Emma Jordan has returned home after her father’s death to run the animal sanctuary that had been his legacy. But strange things start happening, and it seems that someone is out to shut her down, someone who doesn’t mind putting lives in jeopardy to see it through. When Hidden Falls’ sexiest fireman starts to ask questions, Emma needs to make sure his charm doesn’t distract her from keeping her dreams alive.
Ben McQuaid has an obligation as a local fireman to protect the community, even from a well-meaning wildlife veterinarian who’s in way over her head. But, it’s becoming hard to keep his loyalty to the town and his desire for the pretty vet separate. As Ben and Emma become caught in a dangerous game of cat and mouse, their feelings for each other are growing.
Will they let duty drive them apart or will they dare to fall?

Daring to Fall is a sweet small town romance between a woman desperate to keep her father’s dream alive via the animal sanctuary and a fireman who doesn’t want to fall in love. Emma is a likable character and you feel a connection to her right away. She has returned to a town she hasn’t been in for awhile and people aren’t really happy to see her. The man who had been her father’s right hand at the sanctuary is really not pleased Emma has returned. He planned to take over the sanctuary. He and Emma certainly don’t agree about pretty much anything. The town isn’t really thrilled about the animal sanctuary either. There are people who are suspicious of what goes on behind the closed gates. Ben is sent by his brother, a cop, to ‘inspect’ after a bobcat kitten is found in town and taken to the sanctuary. Before he knows what he is doing, he as agreed to volunteer at the sanctuary!

I found Emma and Ben were enjoyable characters and their romance was well written. Ben doesn’t really want to fall for Emma, and Emma is not thinking about love at all. I also thought the little bit of suspense thrown in was great as well! Plus, animals! I loved reading the interactions between Emma and the various animals. The banter is witty and enjoyable. I plan to continue with the series to get the other siblings’ stories!
